Common Questions

Questions and Answers

We have complied a list of common questions and answers to help give you more information about the facilities, what they are used for and how to get in touch.

Hiring the hall for parties

Q. How do I book the community centre for a party?

A. You can book the community centre on our website under the book online button. We hire the hall for children's parties starting at either 13:30 on a Saturday or 14:30 on a Sunday. Our slots are 4 hours long as standard but you can request additional time by contacting us. Tables and chairs are provided for 40 people free of charge. There is a small kitchen area in the main lobby with a sink and fridge.

Q. Can I hire the hall for adults parties or other events?

A. We are afraid not. Adults parties tend to attract bigger groups and we only have limited parking. We also don't hold an alcohol licence for parties as we want to reduce noise to our neighbours.  The idea is that the facilities serve as a local venue for low key day time parties where many guests will actually come from Forge wood preventing the need for us to accommodate lots of extra cars especially later in the evenings.

Q. How many people does the hall accommodate?

A. The hall has a capacity of 100 but our car park is much smaller than this so we encourage people to car share, walk and always park responsibly.

Q. Can I book entertainment, caterers or decorators?

A. Absolutely but please ensure you obtain a public liability insurance certificate from your supplier to ensure they are appropriately insured.

Q. Can I visit the hall?

A. Yes you can, please email us and we can arrange this. info@forgewoodfacilities.com

Hiring the hall for commercial groups

Please email info@forgewood.com for up to date availability and prices.

Service charge

Q. Why do we pay for the community facilities through our service charge?

A. When you purchased your property you agreed to pay for management and maintenance of the community assets ranging from the open spaces to the Pavilion and Community centre. We have a team in place to maximise the revenue of the assets so that they bring in income which can be off-set against the running costs, this reduces the amount of service charge you pay. We also strive to create a balanced timetable of activities so we generate income but also offer classes and activities that interest different people across Forge wood. This is an ever evolving balancing act and we are always open to hearing your ideas on new groups and activities.

Q. Who owns the facilities if Residents pay for the running costs?

A. The facilities are owned by Forge wood Management Company (Crawley) lTD the day to day management is carried out by Preim the estate management company. The Board of Directors is made up of representatives from the consortium of developers. In the future the board will be made up of community stakeholders.

Q. Do Residents own the Community facilities?

A. No, Forge wood Management (Crawley) Ltd does, the facilities are managed for the benefit of the community as a whole.

Q. How do Residents have a say in how the facilities are managed?

A. We always welcome your feedback and suggestions and encourage you to get in touch via our website or email. Likewise Preim welcome feedback and host resident events throughout the year where you can share your views.
