About us
Forge wood is a new community in the north east of Crawley and is the newest of the 14 neighbourhoods.
When complete, Forge Wood will have up to 1,900 homes built around a central community space. This includes a primary school which opened in 2016. Industrial, office and retail space are still to be built/completed. Persimmon and Taylor Wimpey are building the development over four phases.
In September 2023 we open the Forge wood community facilities to the public. These facilities include: Sports pavilion , cricket pitch, junior football pitch and Community centre. Forge wood Management owns and operates these facilities.
Our aim is to create dynamic community spaces which act as a hub to host a range of enrichment activities. The initial offering of activities at our Community centre includes a variety of baby and toddler groups, exercise classes for all ages and abilities, martial arts and space for spiritual worship.
This program of activities is provided by commercial hirers, they pay a hire fee which in the long term aims to cover the running costs of the building. We also offer some limited weekend hire slots for children's parties or low-key adult events such as baby showers (we are currently a dry venue so no alcohol is permitted). These parties do not form part of our core business model, whilst we will do our best to accommodate your special event, we do not market ourselves as an exclusive events space.
Our goal is to facilitate a variety of activities delivered by our hirers and generate an income while we do so. This income is used to reduce the costs associated with the buildings which is paid by residents via the service charge.

Our Leadership
The Forge wood development is not yet complete. Whilst building work is still underway representatives from the Developers sit on the Board of Forge wood Management (Crawley) Ltd, they oversee the management of the facilities which is carried out by Preim who are the estate management company for the site .
We work closely with the Stakeholders across the site whether that is community groups , hirers, housing providers or NHS groups. We also work with the Forge wood Residents committee to keep them up to date with news and events happening across the facilities.
Our Vision
We want to create thriving Community hubs which can benefit the residents of Forge wood and the surrounding areas.
As we near completion of the site we will work with the community to find representatives to sit on the future board of Directors who will oversee the long term management of the community assets alongside the estate management company.
