The Play Pocket is relaunching this September.

This September Play Pocket will be re opening bigger and better!

The Play pocket has been running over the last year at the Pavilion on Tulip drive. This September it will become a permanent set up and Darice has some exciting plans in store.

This is a bit of information from Darcie:

Hi, I’m Darcie. Ex primary school teacher and mum of two.

Opening a role play like this has been at the back of my mind ever since having children. I absolutely love the Early Years and role playing is such a crucial part of our childrens development! And so, in 2024 I started planning my dream role play.

I wanted somewhere my kids would love to come time and time again - this is reflected in my ‘pop up'‘ design. I know interests change and variety is key to keep our little ones engaged in learning, so I knew I never wanted to use huge tall and permanent shop fronts. I wanted a blank and versatile space that can change and grow alongside my own children (currently 21 months and 3.5 years old) and yours!

The open plan aspect was really important for me as I always found it so stressful attending a role play facility on my own with both my kids. Despite them loving it so much, in the end I couldn’t bring myself to take them as it was nearly impossible to keep them both safely in my eye sight!

I have also used my knowledge as a teacher and early years specialist, to set up this role play in line with the Early Years Framework to best support all children that visit us, in all areas of their development.
